Stem cell research

Stem cell research is a major theme within DPTE. Some groups address fundamental questions, others work towards clinical applications in the building of viable tissues. DPTE has been successful in bringing these groups together.

Recently, stem cell researchers within the DPTE program have decided to work together on the standardisation of procedures and better ways to characterise different types of (mesenchymal) stem cells. Another major issue targeted in the program is the interaction between cells and their environment.
